new every morning...day 3...take five

Welcome to day 3 of take five. Today I am also linking up with five minute friday. Read my post and then head over to heading home to see what others have to say about the word of the day. Today's word is NEW.

I admit it...I am NOT a morning person. With the days getting shorter, it's even harder for me to pull myself out of bed. My hubby on the other hand...he wakes up with a song on his heart and can be heard whistling even before the light is turned on.

BUT...when I do manage to rise before the sun, I find great delight in watching it rise. That will always put an end to my morning grumpies. I can't watch the sun rise without a song forming on my heart...the sun comes up its a new day dawning...it's time to sing your song again. I also find myself thinking of a verse in Lamentations....His mercies are new every morning!

I may not always be a morning person...but God is. He gives each new day as a fresh start...new mercies are awaiting us with each sunrise. Oh how I love Him for that!!

Cling to his promise of new mercies. Let each new day dawn with expectation. Let's look for 10,000 reasons for our heart to sing!

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

  1. I like to think of myself as a morning person...as long as people don't talk to me for the first 30 minutes. I like to wake up slow, quiet and take in moments. That is why I love to walk our dog in the field. It gets me out into quiet and I watch as the sun comes up over the trees and I often find myself singing that same song: "The sun comes up it's a new day dawning..." Great song! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and encouragements! Good words! :) Stopping by from #fmf

  2. I know I'm a morning person, as long as I get a decent night's sleep the night before!

I'm glad God's mercies are new every morning. I find that verse has gotten me out of bed more than one time that, otherwise, I'd be too depressed to even think about it.

Here from FMF. Love the leafy background to your blog!
