take five...be sure to teach them...

Today's take five word is teach...

“You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down,  and when you rise."  Deuteronomy 11:18-19   God instructs us to teach our children about him. He doesn't say be sure and take them to Sunday School and that's enough. He tells us to teach them as we are sitting in our house, walking, when we lie, down and when we rise. This seems to indicate to me that we are to speak of the Lord often, we are to teach our children about him in all circumstances.    If our children don't hear about the Lord from us, then who will teach them? They need to see how much we love him, they need to hear how God has worked in our lives, they need to see when God answers our prayers.    Parents, speak to your children about the Lord. Show them your faith, help them to grow in their own. It is a privilege God has given us! This will return blessings to you!!
